Setting Up Your Impact Grain MillUpdated 2 months ago
Proper setup of your NutriMill Impact Grain Mill ensures smooth operation and optimal milling performance. Follow these step-by-step instructions to assemble your mill and prepare it for use.
1. Unboxing & Checking Components
Before setting up your mill, ensure all components are included:
- Impact Grain Mill Base
- Hopper (8-cup capacity)
- Flour Canister (12-cup capacity)
- Cyclo Cup (for optimal airflow)
- Flour Tube
- Canister Lid with Filter
- Detachable Power Cord
2. Assembling the Mill
Step 1: Attach the Cyclo Cup
- Connect the Cyclo Cup to the underside of the canister lid to ensure proper flour separation and airflow.
Step 2: Insert the Filter
- Place the filter inside the canister lid to help contain flour dust.
Step 3: Secure the Lid to the Canister
- Line up the lid notch with the canister slot and press firmly down.
- Push down on the canister latch to lock it into place.
Step 4: Attach the Flour Canister to the Mill
- Align the flour outlet tube with the grommet in the lid.
- The canister latch will click into place when properly secured.
Step 5: Attach the Hopper
- Lower the hopper onto the mill base.
- Rotate the hopper clockwise until it locks into place.
Important: The mill will not turn on unless the hopper is properly locked.
3. Preparing for First-Time Use
Before milling flour for consumption, clean the mill by following these steps:
- Plug in the mill and turn it on.
- Mill 2 cups of white rice and discard the flour—this removes any manufacturing residues.
- Wipe the flour canister, lid, and hopper with a dry cloth.
Your NutriMill Impact is now ready for regular use.
4. How to Operate the Mill
- Plug the mill into an outlet.
- Fill the hopper with your desired amount of grain. A full hopper (8 cups) will yield approximately 12 cups of flour.
- Turn the power knob clockwise to start the mill. The motor will begin running before the grain feeds into the milling chamber.
- Adjust the control knobto set the grain feed rate:
- Lower feed rate for finer flour
- Higher feed rate for coarser flour
- When milling is complete, turn the control knob counterclockwise to power off the mill.
5. Removing Flour from the Canister
- Press down on the canister latch.
- Pull firmly on the hand grip to release the canister from the mill.
- Unlock the lid by pulling up on the latch.
- Lift the lid carefully while pressing down gently on the lip of the canister to release the seal.
- Tap the lid before removing to minimize flour dust.
- Enjoy your freshly milled flour.
6. Best Practices for Milling
- Only use dry, clean grains – Avoid milling grains with high moisture or oil content.
- Do not overfill the hopper – A level hopper ensures even milling.
- Mill white rice periodically – Milling ¼ cup of white rice helps clean the milling heads after extended use.
- Store in a dry area – Keep the mill away from moisture to preserve its performance.
