Grains, Beans & Legumes You Can Mill in the ClassicUpdated 19 days ago

To keep your NutriMill Classic in top condition, always use approved grains and avoid milling anything that could damage the milling heads.

1. Approved Grains for Milling

Gluten-Containing Grains

(All grains must be hulled before milling.)

  • Hard Wheat (Red & White)
  • Soft Wheat
  • Spelt
  • Barley
  • Rye
  • Kamut

Gluten-Free Grains

(All grains must be hulled before milling.)

  • Rice (White, Brown, Wild)
  • Sorghum
  • Millet
  • Quinoa
  • Buckwheat
  • Amaranth

Legumes & Beans (For Flour or Thickening)

(All must be dry and hulled if applicable.)

  • Lentils
  • Chickpeas (Garbanzo Beans)
  • Black Beans
  • Soybeans
  • Navy Beans

2. Grains & Ingredients You Should NOT Mill

High-Moisture or High-Oil Content Ingredients

  • Oatmeal (Rolled or Steel-Cut)
  • Sesame Seeds, Flax Seeds, Sunflower Seeds
  • Coffee Beans, Spices, Nuts
  • Dried Fruits or Vegetables
  • Sugar, Chocolate

Sprouted Grains & Beans – Only mill if thoroughly dried; moisture can cause clogging.
